    File of the Week 52/2008:

"2009"

Time to say "goodbye". Will the economy really go down the drain?
Wicked song fragment in german.
But seriously: all the best to everyone!

    File of the Week 50/2008:

"A.T.L.A.S 04"

After quite a pause, another one from this experimental series started earlier this year.

    File of the Week 49/2008:

"Total Random Sampling"

I just like conceptual experiments...
A quite simple idea: sample 2 seconds of random audio from 10 music-CDs, without listening or knowing which songs/artist got picked.
Have a maximum of 3 hours to create a small musical piece with those random samples.
Don't use any other sounds or instruments.
Since I don't do any "stealing-sampling" anymore these days, this -in a way- was a refreshing return to those early sampling-days.

"Gordon"

Some dark sounds and an excerpt from a speech given by Gordon Brown in early october.

    File of the Week 47/2008:

"Tiggemann Film Excerpt"

Did some more work for the DVD-release of an indie-documentary by Marcel Schneider.
Although i don't agree with everything said in the movie, i think it does hit the mark here and there...
This film was shot right before the financial crisis everyone is talking about now.
An excerpt of the 50-minute film.
Quicktime7 needed to play this clip.

    File of the Week 45/2008:

"Break my Window 96"

One from the archives. A not too spectacular beat from around 1996.
Guitar by Luigi Archetti if i remember correctly.

    File of the Week 44/2008:

"Wintertime"

Yes, Wintertime again...
A repost.

    File of the Week 42/2008:

"Buy Serbia!"

Rather tasteless billboard advertising found in Cyprus.
Oddly funny in view of the financial crisis though.

    File of the Week 41/2008:

"Diamond Draft V2"

Second draft for a corporate soundtrack (as mentioned in week 39).

    File of the Week 40/2008:

"Not The Fall Chorus Vid"

Trashy video for the REIZ TRIGGEER song "Not The Fall" (as posted week 32/08).
Chorus part only. Shot with a cheap cellphone-cam.
Somewhat silly indeed...

    File of the Week 34/2008:

"404 times F.U.C.K"

A video-experiment about the excessive use of the "f-word" in certain movies.
A closer look at the film ".45" by director Gary Lennon.
Telling a -in times- violent story about an abusive relationship of a NY lowlife-gangster couple, the language seems appropriate.
Anyway, i am not out to criticize this film.
The question simply was this:
Would one be able to follow the story (at least broadly) if ONLY the "f-words" would remain?
Best use QT7 to play this clip.

    File of the Week 32/2008:

"REIZ TRIGGER: Not The Fall"

Roughmix of a new REIZ TRIGGER tune, made in just a few hours.
The alternative title is "Everyday is 9/11", as it's one about the fear of flying.
Have a nice flight...

    File of the Week 31/2008:

"Jetzt wir zwei: Bei der Scheune"

Excerpt from the 16mm-film "Jetzt wir zwei", mixed a couple of days ago.
Director: Kolya Reichart.
Music: Achim Vogel.
Sounddesign, Mix: Daniel Stössel

    File of the Week 30/2008:

"Cluster-Mania"

Providing more temp-tracks for a movie.
This is the greatest fun in creating soundtracks; doing spooky, evil clusters.

    File of the Week 29/2008:

"Not my cup of tea"

A "quick and dirty" track.
And cheers to that british girl.
I don't pee tea...

    File of the Week 28/2008:

"A Second house of orgies?"

Director Mathieu Seiler works on a recut of his feature film "Orgienhaus" (House of orgies) from the year 2000.
I then composed the music for this movie.
Now we talk about a new soundtrack.
Not having seen any bits from the new cut yet, i did some inprovising to provide temp-tracks, using the naive nursery rhyme-motif from the original film.
Three parts in one go: a hint of the vocal motif, some clustersounds and a more "seventies-pop-version" of the theme.

    File of the Week 27/2008:

"@home"

It's not abbey road.
But home, sweet home in summer-daylight.

    File of the Week 22/2008:

"Die Lawine (Lange Version)"

Avalange; the white death.
Music for a live-performance.

    File of the Week 18/2008:

"TickTack Rorschach"

Something a bit different this week...
Two acoustic recordings (one is a pendulum clock, the other one is text) I did for two separate exhibitions; here merged together.
Reading: Oliver Daume.
For dates and details on the exhibitions, go to "News/Bio".

    File of the Week 17/2008:

"Amusis Homerecording Tutorial Part01"

Since Tutorial Videos have become so popular, I decided to do one too.
This one shows you how homerecording REALLY works...:-)
Video is in german language and needs Quicktime7.

    File of the Week 14/2008:

"REIZ TRIGGER: Bad Bad Devil"

Just love quickies.

Another one from that series of odd miniatures.

    File of the Week 10/2008:

"Ad Reflection"

Does advertising reflect your every day roadmap or is it the other way round?
How waiting on a busstation can bring up serious questions. Poor cellphone snapshot quality.

    File of the Week 09/2008:

"Flow (corporate video soundtrack)"

For the final version, the music for this corporate video had to change quite a bit.
Somehow, i still prefer the quickly made "western-version" posted 07/08...

    File of the Week 07/2008:

"Unsympathetic Finish"

I was asked to record a track somewhat similar to "Unfinished Sympathy" by Massive Attack for a corporate video.
So i took a look at the chords used in that track and did some fooling around.
This one sounds more like a B-movie western soundtrack though... :-)

"The sick and lonely drunken Jazz Band"

Suffering from Influenza, drinking loads of tea and wine at the very same time produces strange results indeed. A repost.

    File of the Week 04/2008:

"A.T.L.A.S 01"

A.T.L.A.S means "A TINY LITTLE AURAL SOMETHING".
It's a new label for those quickly made tracks. And this is the first one of them; made today, off-the-cuff.
Music without purpose.

    File of the Week 03/2008:

"Pseudo-MS20"

Two tools i love; both Korg-products, based on their legendary synthesizer "MS20".
Both a fake, so to speak...

    File of the Week 02/2008:

"NIN: The Hand that bleeds (REIZ TRIGGER Remix)"

Remixing that HELEN HELL tune last week, suddenly reminded me of a strange "deconstruction-mix" of "The Hand that feeds" (NINE INCH NAILS), which i did for a contest back in 2005.
Amazingly, the link is still up: /echoingthesound.com
